I’ve just finished reading Life on the Line, which I will call ‘Acts of the Holy Spirit through Des and Ros Sinclair’. This book has completely changed my destiny. I realise I have a unique purpose to fulfil on earth. I believe God has called me to be a teacher of the Word. I’ve been transformed!

The book has drawn me closer to God. It helped me not to look at my challenges, but keep my eyes fixed on Jesus. He will sort the challenges out. I liked the story of the Muslim man that was eight days dead, stinking and rotting. When Des took his focus off the corpse and started to Praise Jesus, Jesus raised the man! Our situation maybe dead and rotting but Jesus when we focus on Him will turn the situation around. This book is awesome!”

When I began to read Des Sinclair’ biography, I just couldn’t stop. I was deeply touched and once again realised how great is our God. The way the book is written, deeply touched me, especially Des’ honesty.

We often think that a powerful warrior for Jesus, like Des, doesn’t make mistakes and is never scared. Yet Des shares he sometimes first had to repent before the power of God was released and miracles happened. This taught me how to act in situations I find myself in. Repent and trust the Lord, rebuke the thoughts of the enemy in your mind, that you are not there yet spiritually. Nothing is impossible for God.

After reading the book I had the desire to grow spiritually and spend more time in the Word, and ask God to release His gifts to me for the purpose of the Gospel. Life On The Line is not just another book. I don’t have the words to describe how it made be feel except that we serve an awesome, God. I am truly thankful that my eyes have been opened and I can praise God with my whole heart.

Every chapter of Life on the Line, from Des Sinclair’s childhood to the end of the book, is a great reflection of who God is and the miracles He does through those who honour and obey Him. The Sinclair’s compassion for the needy, the lost and the broken in heart and spirit is what makes them so special. One thing I won’t forget is the way Des handles situations with calmness and Godliness – not judging or condemning anyone, and his fatherly love. Des will stand for the Word of God no matter what the consequences are, or the price. Des and Ros are a true reflection of the character of Christ. They bear fruit worthy of the Spirit as the Word of God says: “You will know the tree by the fruit it bears.”

‘LIFE ON THE LINE’ has become a lifeline of hope and faith for my family and I. The Sinclair’s amazing stories of how God has turned around impossible situations in their lives are a blessing to us. When you’re in a trial, facing a difficult situation, you are sometimes left without hope. But God knew that the many miracles He performed in the Sinclair’s ministry would revive me and enable me to tell my story of hope one day!

LIFE ON THE LINE is not just a book, it has become a great friend to us. The way God came through for the Sinclairs truly gives us hope! We’ve learned to be content in all circumstances, like Paul says in Romans 11. We are greatly inspired by their life stories, to see how God is able to make the impossible possible and that God will also come through for us!

God knew ahead, for the medical condition that Des faces every day being diabetic, we also face every day. We have learnt to be content for God is the one who decides when to heal! The best is yet to come! We greatly appreciate the Sinclairs and their humbleness. Their life story is a great encouragement to us, to endure forever!

Readers become more involved in their local churches, begin to read their Bible with more passion and want to make a difference in people’s lives, after they’ve finished the book. I thank God for Des and Ros Sinclair. They are such humble people, always looking for the upliftment of the poor and needy and an encouragement to fellow believers.

Throughout Life On The Line you read about many difficult situations that Des Sinclair found himself in: from being thrown out of home by his father at the age of 11, to being abused, imprisoned, tortured and sentenced to death. Yet Jesus delivered him from those situations, every time! One thing stood out for me: Des’s house was built on a solid foundation, Jesus Christ, our Rock. He wasn’t moved by any of the challenges and he never stopped trusting God. Neither sickness nor death nor suffering nor persecution should hinder us from fulfilling our life calling because God’s grace is sufficient for us! I’ve learnt from Des’s testimony that God only wants us to make ourselves available and He will do the rest.

“I prayed God would give me a testimony like yours!” – Yvotte

“I was really touched and inspired by the testimony of Des Sinclair in Life On The Line! A week after I read the book, I prayed that God would give me a testimony like his! The next morning at 4am the Lord woke me up and I saw a man looking through my window. I shouted at him and he started shooting at me. I rolled from my bed and all the bullets missed me. I was about two metres from another man, but he couldn’t shoot me! It was like a force was holding him back and all his bullets went into the ground! When the police and farm guards arrived, my attackers fled! The Lord saved my life!! If I’d woken up 10 seconds later I would have been dead. I realised that the only thing that matters in this world is what we are doing for Christ!! Life is too short to please our fleshly desires, we have to use our talents, strength and time on earth to serve the Lord!
